CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Carrabassett Valley Academy, Sugarloaf and the Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry will collect unwrapped gifts for area needy children from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

People are encouraged to bring unwrapped toys for children and help Stuff A Bus parked outside the Sugarloaf Base Lodge. After the bus is filled, the toys will be wrapped and sent to Operation Santa Claus for distribution.

Saturday afternoon CVA student-athletes, along with faculty and staff and members of Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry, will go door-to-door collecting canned food for distribution by the United Methodist Economic Ministry.

CVA Headmaster John Ritzo said, “CVA and the Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry have been working together on community outreach programs for many years. The canned food drive has been an important community service project at CVA for over 20 years. Now in its third year, Stuff A Bus has proven to be a great added success. Partnering in participate with the Sugarloaf and Carrabassett Valley community each year to give back during the holiday season is very rewarding for everyone involved.”
