NEWRY – The wedding of Samantha Poland and Eric J. Cheney was held Nov. 10 at the top of Barker Mountain at Sunday River. Danielle Smith Bruce officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Cheney is the daughter of Tracy Poland of West Paris and Kenneth Grover of East Bethel. Mr. Cheney is the son of John and Dale Cheney of Bethel.

Friends of the couple, Tim Bruce and Marvin Collins, attended as witnesses.

A celebration party is planned for the summer of 2008. A honeymoon in Hawaii is planned for February.

The bride received a degree in business management from Central Maine Community College in Auburn. She is employed at Rivers Edge Wood Products in Biddeford as a kitchen designer.

The bridegroom received an associate degree in fire science at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland. He is employed as a career firefighter for the town of Sanford.
