RUMFORD – Marianne Stevens, vice chairwoman of the Maine Democratic Party, will attend the holiday party and meeting of the Oxford County Democrats on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Rumford Eagles Hall, Oxford Avenue.

Stevens will bring greetings from the party and give an update on activities planned for 2008.

Prior to her election as vice chairwoman in 2004, Stevens, a resident of Kingfield, served as the Democratic chairwoman in Franklin County. Her responsibilities with the Maine Democratic Party include coordination of the Feb. 10 caucuses and representing the party at meetings of the Democratic National Committee.

Also in attendance will be Sen. Bruce Bryant, Rep. John Patrick, Rep. Tim Carter and Rep-elect Sheryl Briggs, as well a several candidates and prospective candidates for 2008 races.

The event will feature an old-fashioned beef stew and biscuit supper with a dessert buffet for a cost of $5 a person payable at the door.
