AUBURN – Brandean Dyer enjoyed a fabulous weekend with six goals in two games, but it was not enough to prevent Auburn Squirt House Red Wings from dropping a pair of verdicts on the ice.

Lewiston Jr. Maineiacs Orange raced to an 8-3 victory over the Red Wings at Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Saturday, followed by a 9-4 Western Maine Wolverines win at Ingersoll Arena on Sunday.

Dyer posted the hat trick with all three goals in the first half of the weekend double dip. Tyler Couture assisted two of those strikes, with Matthew Futch and Jacob Lawrence each notching a helper.

Kevin Bannister was the star for Jr. Maineiacs with an astonishing six goals.

Brendan Donovan registered the remaining pair.

Donovan, Conrad Grimmer and Cameron Beach each picked up a pair of assists for Lewiston. Joseph Dunn also set up a goal.

Trent Spaulding was the victorious goaltender, while Jamison Pooler tended the net for Auburn.

Dyer assisted a goal by Matt Verrill in the Sunday contest, and Verrill returned the favor by setting up Dyer’s first two connections. Couture recorded an assist, as well.

Mason Laplante shone for the Wolverines with four goals. Evan Kellough-Ocasio and Kaleb Currier each picked up two, and Jordan Kruger also lit the lamp for Western Maine. Taber Pasternak doled out three assists. Zackery Callahan opposed Pooler in goal.
