TURNER – Androscoggin Grange 8 Overseer Cindy Morin and Secretary Karen Flagg presented dictionaries to third-grade students at Turner Primary School.
Greene Central School was the next stop, where dictionaries were presented to three third grades. Travis Morin assisted his mother, Cindy, and Flagg with presenting the books as he is involved with many aspects of the grange.
The pair then went to Leeds Central School where Grange Chaplain Marilyn Tripp joined them and helped present the books to two third-grade classes.
The program is an ongoing nationwide project titled, “Words for Thirds.” This is the fourth year dictionaries have been passed out at Greene Central School and the third year for Turner Primary and Leeds Central schools.
The Greene Grange sponsors a kids’ variety show every April and the proceeds fund the dictionary project. The first year the Little Dreamers Daycare assisted with the funding.
Anyone with questions on joining the Grange may call Master Mike Flagg at 225-2312, Morin at 946-3434 or Treasurer Carol Buzzell at 946-7746.
