Allison Beckler, daughter of Douglas and Mary Lou Beckler of Canton, is a first-year student in the class of 2011 at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Biddeford.

In October, Beckler participated in the college’s annual “White Coat Ceremony,” which formally recognizes the transition of first-year students from lay persons to those assuming the responsibilities of physicians. The ceremony included the second-year students presenting the first-year students with a white coat.
