Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Multi-Purpose Center on Dec. 17 were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry; second/first in B, Cynthia and Bill Clifford; third, Dick Allen and Les Buzzell; second in B, Eleanor and Lindy Wigton.

The top five masterpoint winners for 2007 are: first, Richard Allen, 21.67; second, Luke Merry, 18.30; third, Linda Leotsakos, 17.55; fourth, Lucille Bilodeau, 16.57; and fifth, Janet Arey, 16.36.

No games will be played on Dec. 24 and 31. The Monday game will resume on Jan. 7. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.

Board taps Buuck

AUGUSTA – The Kennebec County Soil and Water Conservation District has announced the election of Clif Buuck of Readfield to the board of supervisors.

The election date was Nov. 27, with the ballots counted the following week. Buuck has worked with the Kennebec District for a number of years and was willing to run for the position left open by the resignation of Ted Sparrow.

Buuck will serve a three-year term starting in January. Sparrow will continue to serve the Kennebec District, but as an associate supervisor.
