Calendar raffle
PARIS – The Oxford County 4-H Leaders’ Association is planning a calendar raffle during February. More information will be available as time gets closer for the raffle.
All funds raised from the raffle will be used in Oxford County for educational programs and activities.
4-H is open to all youth ages 5 to 18 and all clubs in Oxford County are in the process of re-enrollment for the 2008 year. 4-H is a program of the Oxford County Extension Association and of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.

Seniors to meet
PARIS – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Market Square Restaurant, Paris. Dinner will be chosen from the menu.
Instead of exchanging Christmas gifts, each member is asked to bring a cash donation and a gift for playing bingo.
Library hours
WATERFORD – The Waterford Library will be closed on Monday, Dec. 24. The library will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, and will be open on regular hours, 2 to 6 p.m. on Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 21.
As the library is staffed by volunteers, it is occasionally closed due to inclement weather during the winter. Patrons are advised to call 583-2050 if road conditions are poor. Library hours are Monday 2 to 6 p.m., Wednesday 3 to 8 p[.m., Friday 10 a.m. to noon and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Bridge play
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 14 in the Fare Share Commons when a three-table Howell movement was played. This was the annual Christmas party.
Finishing first in Flight A were Marj Street and Les Buzzell; second, Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Suzanne Andrews and Carol Curran, who also were first in Flight B. Finishing second in Flight B were Bev Dolan and Marta Clements.
There will be another game at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21 and all bridge players are welcome. The first Friday in January the game will start at 9:30 a.m.
