NORWAY – On Saturday, Dec. 29, there will be a free concert of festive songs with Mary Ukelady at the Norway Memorial Library at 11 a.m. to noon. All ages welcome!

Mary Ukelady Hargreaves is a local singer-songwriter who has been performing in Central Maine and Oxford Hills since 2002.

She has been seen at the Great Falls Balloon Festival, Common Ground Fair, Norway Summer Festival, Fare Share Follies, Moore Park Arts Festival, local coffeehouses and on many community TV programs including Great Falls TV, where she now hosts the monthly “Mainely Musicians” program.

Hargreaves has just released her children’s/family CD, “Little Pony Express,” on which several musicians and friends accompany her – including second-graders.

“Mary Uke” plays ukulele and guitar. Her original upbeat songs are about the country, family life, friendship, love and laughter. Inspired by her musical country upbringing, Hargreaves hopes to instill strong family values in a fun way. She has released two CDs on her own label, Ukelady Music, and will be singing songs from both, as well as festive favorites for children and families in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Norway Memorial Library, 258 Main St. Norway (children must be accompanied by adult, please). FMI: Call 743-5309 or visit www.norway.lib.me.us.

Hargreaves’ CDs are available at The Maine Bookhouse in Oxford, at Books-N-Things in Norway and at Bull Moose Music stores. FMI: www.maryukelady.com.
