Sunday service

MEXICO – The Congregational, United Church of Christ will have a Sunday Christmas service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at 163 Main St. It will include their Christian education pageant, “Shoes Shining All the Way.” There will be special music by the choir and a birthday party for Jesus downstairs in the Fellowship Hall after worship. Church service

OXFORD – A New Year’s Eve service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at Grace Fellowship Church, Poplar Street. Refreshments will be served following the service. For more information, call 674-2733 or 539-9064.

Family service

MEXICO – Congregational, United Church of Christ will join the Rumford United Methodist Church for a “Family Christmas Eve Service” at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, in the sanctuary of the Virgin Memorial Chapel, Linnell Street.

Pastor Kelly Harvell and the Rev. Ginger Snapp-Cunningham will offer the service of carols and scripture, especially with children and young families in mind. All are welcome.

Candle service

MEXICO – The United Church of Christ (Green Church) will hold the annual Christmas Eve service of “Candles and Candlelight” at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at 163 Main St. The Senior Choir, with Cindy Bohren accompanying, will sing special music, and a service of candlelighting, scriptures and carol singing will take place.

The Rev. Virginia Snapp-Cunningham’s message is titled “Do You See What I See?” There will be a musical communion service followed by the congregation encircling the sanctuary with candlelight, singing “Silent Night.”

The steeple bell will ring to welcome Christmas at midnight. All are invited. For more information, call 364-8603.
