LISBON – Principal Rick Green of Philip W. Sugg Middle School has announced the first-quarter student achievement awards. The first of four awards for the year, this quarter both recipients are eighth-grade students. Green congratulated Katherine Lemieux and Justin Campbell for their outstanding achievements.

Lemieux is the daughter of Kerry and Jim Lemieux of Lisbon Falls. “What an academic young lady Katherine is at PWS,” said Green.” “She is focused and on task, works hard, works well with her peers. Katherine is very polite and reliable and serves as the vice president of the PWS Student Council,” Green said.

Campbell is the son of Laura and Mark Campbell of Lisbon. “Justin is a bright young man,” said Green. “He is a wonderful addition to any class he is in. He exhibits positive classroom behavior and always offers insightful comments that add to class discussion. Justin is on our Academic Advocate staff and is also a junior volunteer at PWS,” he said.

Students are nominated by teachers for overall academic standings and various areas of student fellowship and accomplishments. The awards are sponsored by members of the Lisbon Rotary Club.
