JAY – Workers from the Androscoggin Mill maintenance department showed their holiday spirit as they prepared for the holiday ham earlier in December.
Hams (and some turkeys) were distributed to Verso Paper’s Androscoggin Mill employees, retirees and widows. Delance White, Jim Finley and Bill Harlow coordinated the delivery to the widows of retirees from International Paper.
Cindy Bennett, Perry Ellsworth, Ray Bryant, Darlene Marstaller, Alvin McDonald, Delance White, Palmer Hebert, Don Miller, Bruce Brooks, Earl McCormack, Dan Corcoran and Tom Saviello delivered 144 hams (or turkeys), donated by the mill and mill employees, to 11 local nonprofit organizations on Dec. 16. Area food banks, schools and military groups welcomed them.
Jef Howell, purchasing manager, said, “Many retirees expressed their gratitude for the mill’s generosity and good will.”
