LEWISTON – Anyone interested in working with groups of adults and youth committed to making Lewiston-Auburn more youth friendly and youth empowered may be interested in YADA action groups.

Working toward those goals, recent Youth + Adults + Dialogue = Action (YADA) community dialogue resulted in a well-attended local action forum on Dec. 6, with four themes emerging.

As a result, theme-related action groups were established, and meetings begin next week. The meeting topics and date/times/location are listed below, and members of the public are welcome to join those who have already signed up for the respective areas of interest.

For those interested in “increasing youth civic engagement,” that group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.

For those interested in “creating an organizational space/community center,” that group will also meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the library.

The “expanding arts and culture” group will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the library.

The “establishing better communication in Lewiston/Auburn” group will also meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the library.

Inquiries may be directed to Dottie Perham-Whittier, Lewiston community relations coordinator, at 513-3121, X3205, TTY/TDD: 513-3007, [email protected].
