AUBURN – Capt. Frank W. Hulette VFW 1603 has announced the start of a Men’s Auxiliary support group for the Post. Hugh Brown Jr., chairman said, “It’s about time the VFW recognized the need for being sure the VFW kept the family together.”
Membership is limited to husbands, widowers, fathers, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, brothers and half-brothers who have attained that status prior to age 16 of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the VFW.
Those eligible for membership in the VFW won’t be eligible for membership in the men’s support group.
Also, any person who has served in Korea for more than 30 days since July 1949 to present are eligible for membership in the VFW. If you haven’t been issued the Korea Defense Medal, we would be glad to help you apply for it.
There are 19 members who have already joined and the unit needs only six more to be able to apply to the VFW for their charter.
Dues are only $20 per year. Anyone needing an application is asked to talk to any officer of the Post or stop into the the Post on Tuesday through Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m.
