PHILLIPS – The Phillips Shared Ministry annual meeting will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Community House. A fellowship lunch will be served, and all members are encouraged to attend.

Reporter training

FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Children’s Task Force will offer a mandated reporter training at Franklin County Children’s Task Force from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in the task force conference room at 113 Church St.

The cost will be $10. Topics to be covered will include understanding the roles and responsibilities of a being a mandated reporter under Maine law, identifying indicators and risk factors of child abuse and/or neglect, and how to make a report if abuse and/or neglect are suspected. Anyone interested in attending should call to register at the Franklin County Children’s Task Force at 778-6960.

GOP to meet

LIVERMORE – The Livermore and Livermore Falls Republicans will meet on Thursday, Jan. 10, to make final preparations for participation in the Feb. 2 Androscoggin County Republican Caucus in Lewiston.

Area Republicans are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the activities of the local and county Republican groups, as well as caucus events. Benefit supper

TURNER – A benefit spaghetti supper is planned for the Davis and Birney families, recent fire victims.

The supper will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Boofy Quimby Memorial Center, intersection of Route 219 and Quimby Road, North Turner. Donations will be accepted at the door.

Riley Davis, age 7, died due to injuries from the fire and Brandon Birney is still undergoing medical treatment for burns.

A memorial fund has been started at Community Credit Union in Auburn. Make checks payable to Davis/Birney Memorial Fund, C/O Community Credit Union, 40 Stanley St., Auburn, ME 04210.

DAR speaker

FARMINGTON – Farmington Selectman John Frary, retired history and political science professor at Middlesex County College, Middlesex County, N.Y., will be the guest speaker at the Colonial Daughters Chapter, DAR, meeting at the Granary on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

A prepaid luncheon will be served at noon. Delegate elections for 110th state spring conference and 117th Continental Congress will be assigned. Anyone wishing to to make a reservation may call Anne Kendall at 778-4882. The public is invited.
