Collecting food
OTISFIELD – Otisfield Community School sixth-grader Jared Jacobs is collecting donations of non-perishable food items, household goods, paper products and health care items for less fortunate families. Donations can be dropped off at Otisfield School on Powhattan Road, the Otisfield Town Office, WOXO on Main Street in Norway or at Just Read It, 13 Water St., Norway, through Friday, Feb. 1. Church service
PARIS – The Baptism of the Lord will be celebrated Sunday, Jan. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, South Paris.
Sunday school and “Making the Old Story Our Story” will start at 9 a.m. with a worship service at 10:15 followed by coffee, refreshments and fellowship.
Camera club
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Camera Club meets from 6 to 8 p.m. every Tuesday during the school year in Room C105 at the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.
The club welcomes photographers from beginner to skilled professional to share techniques. Citrus sale

Rabies clinic
CASCO – A rabies clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 12, at the South Casco Fire Barn. There will be a $10 fee.
Kids’ bowling
NORWAY – The Norway Recreation Department will sponsor the next After School Bowling Program starting today for eight weeks from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The registration fee is $10, which must be paid at the time of registration.
There will be a weekly fee of $5 to be paid at Hobbs Lucky Lanes each week a child participates. The fee is a discount for shoe rental and two strings of bowling. The child can bring a snack or make purchases at the vending machines or snack bar.
A SAD 17 bus will pick the students up at the Guy E. Rowe Elementary School and transport them to Hobbs Lucky Lanes. Parents are to pick their children up at the bowling center by 4:30 p.m.

Pet clinic
NORWAY – A vaccination clinic and “Home Again” micro-chipping will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Norway Fire Station. Micro-chipping pets will aid in locating them should a disaster occur or if they are lost. It is being sponsored by Responsible Pet Care. For more information, call 743-8679.
Sunday services
NORWAY – Services at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St., will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13. The church is served by the Rev. Richard Beal. The service on Sunday is titled “Was Ghengis Kahn a UU?” and will explore a few of the oddities of Unitarian Universalist history.
The church choir rehearses at 9:30 a.m. Sundays and anyone who would like to sing with the choir is welcome. Child care is provided.
