Seniors dinner

AUBURN – The New Auburn Senior Citizens will host a spaghetti and meatball dinner on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the St. Francis Church Hall basement. Cost is $3 and for members only.

A meeting was held Jan. 3 with Virginia Levasseur, president, presiding. New officers for the year were installed: Virginia Levasseur president; Fern Bussiere, vice president; Irene Delorme, secretary; Delia Blair, treasurer; and Joyce Bickford, correspondent secretary and publicity.

Levasseur thanks all of the volunteers. January birthdays were noted and small gifts were given. A sugar party trip is being looked into with more details to follow. Pot of gold winner were Jeanne Starkey, Rite Godbout, Marie Jewett and Jeanine Grondon.

The meeting adjourned and a light lunch was served. Bingo followed. Open bingo for seniors 60+ will be held Jan. 23 and 30.

Honey of a book

POLAND – The Busy Bees of Poland have collected the best recipes from group members, family and friends and compiled them into a keepsake cookbook titled, “A Honey of a Cookbook.” The cookbook commemorates the 75th anniversary of the group.

Books are available from any member for a donation of $10. The book contains 243 recipes, including appetizers, main dishes, desserts and several other sections.
