AUBURN – The Auburn YMCA fifth and sixth-grade girls’ basketball travel team remained undefeated with a 47-35 win over Skowhegan on Saturday.

Brooke Reynolds led Auburn with 10 points. Kory Norcross and Kennedy Hubbard added eight apiece, followed by Tianna Harriman with six, Paige Young with four, Hannah Carr with three, and Katie Novella, Mariah Carroll, Calli Murray and Laurianne Murphy all with two points each.

Allaire Atkinson led Skowhegan with 14 points. Kaitlyn Therriault added 10.

Dixfield tops Mexico with buzzer-beater

DIXFIELD – Cody St. Germain scored 15 points, including a lay-up with just over a second left, to push Dixfield Rec past Mexico Rec, 37-36, in seventh and eighth-grade boys’ travel basketball.

Josh Turbide added 10 points and Caleb Turner hit two key free throws in the final minute for Dixfield.

Dixfield trailed by one point with 10 seconds remaining. Turbide drove the lane and missed the first attempt, but Mitchell Stanley reeled in the offensive rebound and alertly tipped the ball to St. Germain for the game-winner.

Dylan Akers and Isaac Roberts each scored eight points to lead Mexico. Akers hit two 3-pointers.

Gardiner 3-4 trims Monmouth

Jack Hathaway scored eight points and Brian Dunn added six to lead Gardiner over Monmouth, 47-16, in a Central Maine Boys’ Basketball League Grade 3-4 matchup. Calder, Brooks and Amero tallied four points apiece for Monmouth.
