LEWISTON – The ArtVan and the Reading Dog are returning to the Lewiston Public Library.
Jamie Silvestri, program manager for the ArtVan, a mobile art therapy program that brings the arts to children, will present art projects at 4 p.m. every Thursday, beginning Jan. 17, at the Lewiston Public Library.
Silvestri, an art therapist with 17 years of experience, provides hands-on creative opportunities for self-expression, personal growth and healing. She uses art to help children explore and enrich their lives and make sense of the world around them.
Sky, the Reading Dog, and his handler, Gordon Harris, are also returning to the library. Every Saturday at noon, beginning Jan. 12, Sky will be waiting for children to read to him.
Children, ages 6 to 10 who don’t enjoy reading to adults, will love reading to a friendly, nonjudgmental dachshund.
All programs in the Children’s Room are free, but attendance is limited. Places can be reserved in person or by calling 513-3133.
