LEWISTON – The Franco-American Heritage Center is preparing for another Soiree Canadienne with good old-fashioned, toe-tapping music, dancing and food beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18.

This month, patrons will be treated to another traditional meal, a boiled dinner with ham, carrots, turnip, string beans and potatoes and a pudding parfait for dessert.

Local favorite band C’est Si Bon, which had its beginnings at the first Franco-American Festival, will perform. The band was also instrumental in helping to launch many Franco-American festivals, including Festival de la Bastille in Augusta.

C’est Si Bon has recorded three albums, and its music has spread throughout the United States and Canada, where many schools have used the music to teach French to children.

The band has reunited as a musical tribute to its founder, Ray Chouinard. Current members are Nel Meservier, Gerry Meservier, Mickey Meservier, Don Leblanc and Aurel Paquette.
