LEWISTON – A weekend stabbing that left one woman in the hospital and another in jail remained under investigation late Sunday by Lewiston police.
Rebekka A. Trepanier, 26, of 56 Jefferson St., was charged early Sunday morning with elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony.
Police say she stabbed another woman multiple times at a Pierce Street residence. She was being held at the Androscoggin County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
According to police Lt. James Minkowsky, both Trepanier and her alleged victim – a 40-year-old Lewiston woman – were at 125 Pierce St., but neither live there. Detectives are trying to determine what led up to 2:30 a.m. incident.
The victim, Billie Jo Black, 117 Pierce St., was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Her condition was not available Sunday.
A witness to the incident, Matthew W. Messenger, 27, of Auburn, was arrested on an unrelated, outstanding warrant.
