Seniors meeting
PARIS – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at the Market Square Restaurant, Paris. Dinner will be from the menu. Members are asked to bring a gift for bingo.
Rabies clinic
HARTFORD – A rabies clinic will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the town hall. Vaccinations will cost $10 each. Service will be provided by the Norway Veterinarian Hospital.
Church services
NORWAY – Services at the First Universalist Church, “Not Your Usual Church,” 479 Main St., will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20. The church is served by the Rev. Richard Beal.
The service will be led by Cindy Reedy, a church member. The church choir rehearses at 9:30 a.m. Sundays and anyone who would like to sing is invited.
Annual meeting
WEST PARIS – The annual meeting of the Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, Maple Street. A program on Finland’s 90 years of independence will follow the business meeting.
As the December meeting was canceled, due to inclement weather, a belated Christmas celebration will be held with gifts for the society. A coffee social will round out the day. The public is welcome.
Church meeting
PARIS – Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road, Paris, will hold a discussion on “Making the Old Story Our Story” and Sunday school at 9 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, followed by worship service at 10:15. There will be coffee, refreshments.
Society to meet
GORHAM, N.H. – The Gorham Historical Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at the Congregational Church, downstairs. The new officers invite all members to attend, as well as anyone who would like to become a member.
Special supper
PARIS – The Paris Veterans Monument Committee will sponsor a “Chuck Wagon Supper” from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Legion Hall, Church Street, Paris.
Those wishing are invited to dress in country attire. Cost will be $7 for adults; $3, children 12 and under. Live music will be by Rock ‘N Country during supper.
Antiques sale
WOODSTOCK – The Woodstock Historical Society Museum will offer some antiques for sale next summer.
Curator Larry Billings has supplied a mahogany chest to store items ranging from china to a birdhouse. All items will be priced at $30. The society will also offer an appraisal day and proceeds will benefit the society.
