PORTLAND (AP) – There’s more fallout at one of Maine’s most prominent law firms following the firing of a longtime partner at the firm.

David Warren has stepped down as managing partner of Portland-based Verrill Dana in the wake of the alleged embezzlement and theft by former partner John Duncan, who was fired in November.

Warren will continue as a partner, but will no longer lead the firm where he had been managing partner since 1994.

The firm has also publicly disclosed the amount of money – $401,000 – that Duncan is accused of stealing.
