AUBURN – “A sneak peek behind the scenes” on the set of Lewiston-Auburn Community Little Theatre’s “The Laramie Project” will be offered at noon Sunday, Jan. 20.

CLT is offering an opportunity to meet with Stan Spilecki, who designed and constructed the set with a vision of enhancing and guiding the audience’s focus on the actors themselves and the message they are delivering.

He will discuss the goals, challenges and design process for the docudrama by Moises Kaufman and members of the Tectonic Theater Project.

News broke worldwide in 1998 of the savage beating of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student, who was tied to a fence and left to die on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyo.

The “behind the scenes” opportunity to see how a play comes together will be held for CLT members and interested patrons who would like to join the theater.

Ron Bouffard, membership chairman, in conjunction with the hospitality committee, will greet members and new members at the door. Membership renewals will be taken at this time as well as welcoming new members in an open membership offer to the public. Dues are $10 annually.

The play, containing mature subject and language, will run Jan. 18 to 27 at Great Falls Performing Arts Center, Academy Street. Advance tickets are $15 and may be reserved by calling the box office at 783-0958 or accessing the web at www.laclt.com.
