Hebron students adopt positive behaviors

HEBRON – The staff and students at the Hebron Station School have adopted a new theme this year: “Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible!”

Students have learned what these expectations look like in all areas of the school. As part of a schoolwide effort to recognize the positive behaviors, all adults at the Hebron Station School, from the principal to the cafeteria manager, have Hebron Pride Tickets that are given to students who they “catch” doing the right thing.

At the completion of each trimester, students take the tickets they have earned and redeem them at the Hebron Pride Store for activities such as snowshoeing, jewelry or card making, lunch with the principal and a variety of school supplies and other items donated by parents, teachers and community members.

In an effort to help the students see the accumulation of all their positive acts, Rodney Saunders, the Hebron Station School custodian, has built a display column. Students are able to watch their tickets accumulate and have a visual reminder of their work.
