Seniors trips

LEWISTON – Day trips sponsored by the Meadowview Seniors have been announced, escorted by Bert Dutil, as follows:

Saturday, March 29, sugar party (cabane a sucre) at Lac Megantic, Canada; bus and meal, $39. Those going will need a passport or a photo ID and birth certificate.

Saturday June 21, Cabbage Island, Boothbay Harbor, bus, boat and meal, $75.

Monday Aug. 11, Bailey Island; $30, meal on own, shopping at Land’s End and other places.

Friday, Nov. 14, Indian Head Resort; bus, meal, gift from Santa, $57.

May 1 to 6, Branson trip, includes transportation, breakfasts, dinners and shows, sponsored by Dube’s Travel and Lewiston Seniors.

A session to describe the trips will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Meadowview Park Hall. For more information, call Dutil at 786-2305.

Licenses due

TURNER – It is time for Turner dog owners to license their dogs for the year. The fee is $6.60 for neutered/spayed and $11 for unaltered dog. Rabies certificates need to be shown.

On Friday, Feb. 1, there will be a late fee of $15. After the dog license warrant is signed on April 1, the late fee will $25.

Bridge results

LEWISTON – The Lewiston- Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 22 were: first, Mary Leahey and Claire Lyons; second, Patricia Garcia and Luke Merry; third, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; first in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.

Winners at Schooner Estates in Auburn on Jan. 23 were: first, Les Buzzell and John Hackett; second, Martine Begert and Les Buzzell; third, Betty and Doug Sise.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays. A partner is guaranteed.

School dance

MONMOUTH – The third annual Monmouth Father/Daughter Dance will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Monmouth Middle School gym.

The dance is for girls in grades kindergarten to six.

Cost is $15/couple; $5/additional daughter. Attire will be semi-formal. Tickets are available at the Monmouth Middle School, the Henry L. Cottrell School and at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the Monmouth Middle School Playground.
