LEWISTON – The Lewiston Junior Maineiacs Squirt Travel team posted back-to-back shutouts and a hard-fought, 5-4 loss in recent action.

Lewiston shut out Auburn, 3-0, in the opening game behind goaltender Kyle Welsh. Jacob Charest posted two goals, with Cody Woodward picking up the other tally. Mikaela Brown and Luc Dostie registered assists.

The Jr. Maineiacs next blanked the Huskies, 2-0, at the University of Southern Maine Arena in Gorham. Evan Emerson and Dostie were the goal-scorers in support of Sam Zashut’s shutout. Kyle Morin and Ryley Austin collected the assists.

Brewer held on for a 5-4 victory in the finale. Lewiston fell behind 3-0 before battling back to tie the game in the second period. Brewer then scored late in the third period to preserve the win. Austin led the scoring for Lewiston with two goals. Ben Steele and Kyle Ullrich also added a goal apiece, with assists from Dostie, Kiana Melvin and Reid Pomerleau. Welsh and Zashut shared the duties in goal.
