BRIDGTON – Maine Table Tennis League members took part in the third-annual Winter Carnival Ping Pong Tournament on Saturday at Bridgton Town Hall.

Competition was round-robin, so all players had a chance to play many games. The event was well attended with about 25 participants who entered up to three classes of competition: doubles, open, and over 60.

Reigning Maine Open champion Sonu Bhatia of Westbrook took first place in the Open Class. He and Tian Chen of Auburn, himself a former Maine Open champ, took first in doubles. Chen also captured second place in the Open class.

Second place in doubles went to Alan Imes and his son, Jacob, of Waterville.

Art Lekousi of Portland was a repeat winner of the senior group. Lekousi, 81, also won the event last year and he has been winning table tennis competitions for five decades. Jim Nason of Sebago was runner-up.
