Valentine dance

MECHANIC FALLS – The Rock-O-Dundee Riders Snowmobile Club of Oxford will hold its annual Valentine’s Scholarship Dance from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Silver Spurr Banquet Hall.

The Bel Airs will provide the music. There will be door prizes given by local businesses. All proceeds will go to the scholarship fund.

Bean supper

OTISFIELD – The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host a free old-fashioned baked bean supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the church on the Rayville Road. Donations will be accepted to assist those in need in the community.

Otisfield residents physically unable to come to the church for the supper may call Ethel Blow at 539-2990 weekdays after 4 p.m. to make arrangements for meals to be delivered.

Shop reopening

PARIS – Bert Rugg, executive director of Youth Outreach Ministries Inc., d/b/a His Place Teen Center, has announced the grand reopening of the Alpha and Omega Thrift Shop.

The celebration will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 1 and 2. Saturday there will be free hamburgers, hot dogs and soda from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The mobile unit is located next to the former Ruby’s Goldmine, 39 Brown St. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
