Dixfield Rec avenged an early-season loss to Augusta Rec with a stunning overtime victory Sunday in Grade 7-8 boys’ basketball travel action.

Cody St. Germain led Dixfield with 17 points. Ben Holmes and Josh Turbide added 14 apiece, while Caleb Turner contributed 12 points and a stellar defensive effort.

T.J. Frost handled the ball and set up the plays for Dixfield, while Mitch Stanley added a key basket.

Hunter Ross and Chad Snowman played tenacious defense off the bench in contributing to the win.

Trailing by 18 at one point, Dixfield, coached by Trevis Knapp, put 27 points on the board in the fourth quarter to tie the game.

It went on to score a dozen in overtime, including five from the free throw line.

Walker Cooper and Zach Lachance scored 13 points apiece to lead Augusta.

Chase Shostak put in 10 for the capital city squad.
