Throughout the rural sections of our state, which is renowned for its rich agricultural products, are found may original homesteads. Legacies, which have been handed down from family to family, now in the possession of some descendant of the early days, whose name for a generation has been closely linked with the soil over which his feet had wandered.

Such is the case with the True Farm at Mechanic Falls, now owned by Frank D. True, son of the late Daniel W. True. He is a member of D.W. True & Co., wholesale grocers in Portland. Although a very busy man, he still retains the home of his boyhood and with pardonable pride takes a great deal of interest in it. He spends summer months with his family at the farm his grandfather Jabez True cleared from the wilderness.
