NORWAY – The Commons Art Collective’s February show, “Fill in the Blank,” will offer art in process. Members of the collective will hang blank canvases in the Galley at the Fare Share Commons, 445 Main St., at the “opening” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1.

During February, they will fill those blank spaces with vibrant new art. They plan to celebrate the finished pieces at an opening, called “Fulfillment,” Friday, March 7.

“This should be fun,” said member Lisa Moore of Harrison. “It will give the community a chance to witness how artists work over time.” A poet, Moore plans to share the evolution of three poems, beginning with rough journal entries through stages of drafting, revision and fulfillment. Other media will include paintings, drawings and photography.

The Commons Art Collective has offered local art to the Oxford Hills area since 2001. A retrospective show is planned for June when all members will contribute one piece. There have been more than 35 members during the collective’s seven years, and the group has presented more than 50 shows.
