TURNER – SAD 52 River Valley Adult and Community Education is offering many new classes this winter and spring.
“Dream Journey”: The three-week class beginning on Thursday, Feb. 28, will focus on dreams and the messages they bring. Week one will be on techniques to enhance recall. Weeks two and three will be spent learning to understand and interpret dreams and their meanings.
“Tae Kwon Do for Kids”: Children will learn the proper way to block, kick and punch in the class commencing Monday, Feb. 25. They will also learn how to break a fall and to roll on mats.
“Weight Loss with Hypnosis”: The class will start Monday, Feb. 25, for four weeks. It will teach the body’s true needs, eating when hungry, stopping when satisfied and choosing healthy alternatives – all reinforced through hypnotic suggestion.
“Yoga for Health”: Participants will learn to relax the body, still the mind and rejuvenate the soul in the class beginning Monday, March 3. All levels are welcome. A second session will be offered April 7.
“Computers for Seniors”: Participants will learn to use a computer in a slow-paced and relaxed atmosphere starting Wednesday, March 5. It will cover Windows basics, creating documents, working with files and browsing the Web.
“Dried Flower Pocket”: In the one night class on Wednesday, March 5, participants will create a dried flower pocket with simple supplies.
“Mother and Daughter Bellydance” workshop: In the workshop on Wednesday, March 5, those attending will learn basic moves and vocabulary. Age requirement is 8 and above.
“Bugs are Fun” workshop: A workshop for kids of all ages to have fun with bugs of all sizes on Saturday, March 8.
“Beginner Ballroom Dancing”: In the class beginning Tuesday, March 11, people will learn the swing, fox-trot, waltz and cha-cha.
“Meditative Bellydance”: The 10-week class will start Wednesday, March 12.
