CHESTERVILLE – The North Chesterville Extension Homemakers are planning a full schedule of activities for 2008. The meetings, free and open to the public, are held at 7:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the Chesterville Town Office.
Nancy Porter introduced the group to the world of genealogy on Jan. 8. She provided insights on how to get started, the rules for researching, organizational skills, Web sites and possible pitfalls.
Glenda Barker will lead the meeting for the community project on Tuesday, Feb. 12. She is planning to organize a luncheon for senior citizens on Thursday, Feb. 14. Members will make Valentine-related crafts and finalize foods needed for the luncheon at the Tuesday meeting.
Susan Gill will present a program on “Simplifying Your Life” on Tuesday, March 11 On Tuesday, April 8, the program will be on “Healthy Life Styles” and making preliminary plans for the rummage/bake sale.
Linda Gramlich will lead finalization of plans for the rummage/bake sale on Tuesday, May 6. The sale will be held Saturday, May 17. The group will also choose the craft for the Festival of Trees to be donated as a fundraiser during the Chester Greenwood celebration in December.
Tuesday, June 10, will be the annual outing, TBA later. Craft night for the Festival of Trees will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9. On Tuesday, Oct. 14, program planning, election of officers, and collection of dues for 2009 will be completed.
The group will work on Thanksgiving/pumpkin decorations and share pumpkin recipes on Tuesday, Nov. 18. The annual Christmas Party will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 9.
