BANGOR (AP) – A jury in Bangor has found a 62-year-old Greenbush man guilty of stabbing two women in their Milford home.

Jurors weighed evidence for 31/2 hours before finding Larry Leighton guilty Thursday of two counts of aggravated assault and aggravated criminal trespassing.

Leighton testified that he began “poking” Violet DeCarlos and Susan Swoboda with a 3-inch pocketknife after they hit him over the head. He said he went to their house in November 2006 to illegally purchase a prescription drug.

DeCarlos had testified that Leighton pushed his way into the home and began stabbing her without provocation.
