Church lunches

RUMFORD – St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will hold the annual salmon pie luncheons from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday’s Feb. 8, 15 and 22.

Menu will be salmon pie w/egg sauce, vegetable, coleslaw, pickles, rolls, beverage and dessert. Price is $7.

Seniors luncheon

BETHEL – The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will hold a luncheon and meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the West Parish Mission Congregational Church, UCC, 15 Church St. Members are asked to bring items for the auction.

Elks winners

RUMFORD – Rumford Elks Lodge 862 has announced its local scholarship winners: first, $800 each, Marie Russell and Katie Drouin, Mountain Valley High School; second, $400 each, Shiloh Felt and Briana Janke, Dirigo High School.

The top three finalists are eligible for scholarship consideration at the state level, and those who further qualify will be considered on the national level.

All seniors in SADs 21, 43 and 44, who are planning to further their education, may apply for the scholarship. Seniors who are children and grandchildren of living Elks are eligible to apply for an Elks Legacy Scholarship. Scholarship Committee members are Lewis Irish, Mike Aube and Allan Gallant.

Class meeting

MEXICO – The Mexico High School Class of 1955 will meet at the River Valley Grill at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8. Everyone is invited.

Circle to meet

RUMFORD – St. Timothy’s Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at St. Athanasius/St. John’s Hall.

Committee members are Kaye Lainder, chairwoman, Dot Chrissikos, Theresa Vaillancourt, Vickie Kuhl and Jennifer Kreckel.

All members are asked to donate soaps or toothpaste for soldiers in Iraq.
