DIXFIELD – Two vehicles were damaged but no one injured when a tractor-trailer truck struck the rear of a 1998 van late Monday morning on Route 2 just east of the village of East Dixfield.
Police Chief Richard Pickett said Harold Cote, 56, of Main Street, Wilton, was driving his van west when a 2006 Kenworth E.J. Carrier tractor-trailer truck driven by Randall Enman, 73, of Canton Point Road, Dixfield, struck the rear end.
Pickett estimated the damage to Cote’s van at $2,500. The truck, which was on its way to NewPage Corp., had a broken headlight and a bent bumper, valued at about $500.
Traveling with Cote were passengers Ginny Cote, 58, of Main Street, Wilton, and Edward Kahkonen, 27, address unknown. All three complained of back and neck pain. They were examined by personnel from Med-Care Ambulance Service but not taken to a hospital. Both vehicles were able to leave the scene on their own.
