I watched the debates; I’ve seen a lot of discussions on various talk shows; and I’ve read some of the so-called expert opinions. I was supporting Hillary Clinton; I have switched to Barack Obama.

I believe that Caroline Kennedy is correct – Obama has a refreshing, challenging and motivating future-oriented message. His popularity with the young is very good for the country. He has the ability to unite the country and to successfully address the grimly difficult challenges the nation faces. He has qualities that do remind one of her father, President Kennedy.

As for experience, I think he has the intelligence to appoint very competent people who will figure out how to get the job done. I don’t think experience in Washington is all that important; Lincoln didn’t have it. It is the character, intelligence, determination, compassion and leadership of the candidate that really counts.
