BRIDGTON – The Bridgton Public Library will be the backdrop for a Valentine’s Day concert, preceded by an informal wine-and-cheese reception, Thursday, Feb. 14.

Cellist Caroline Worthington and guitarist/singer Alan Lapidus, husband and wife, will team up for their first musical duet.

“We don’t know exactly what we’ll be playing together, but we will definitely perform ‘Green Sleeves,’ perhaps the greatest love ballad,” said Worthington.

The wine-and-cheese reception will be from 5 to 6 p.m.

The event is a fundraiser for the library. Tickets are $10 each, $18 for couples. Advanced reservations are required because library seating is limited. Call 647-2389.

Lapidus, a retired architect, recently wrote a memoir, “Everything by Design.” Worthington, who has played the cello since age 6, has toured Europe and the United States. The couple now call Naples home.

The library is at Main and Church streets.
