LISBON – One driver suffered minor injuries, but her infant son was unhurt in a head-on crash on slushy Route 9 on Friday afternoon.
Investigating Officer Thomas Stanton Jr. said Elyce Reavely, 28, of Bath was driving south when her vehicle skidded on the slush-covered pavement into the oncoming lane and slammed head-on into a northbound vehicle driven by 55-year old Daniel Murphy of Poland.
Reavely was taken to Central Maine Medical Center as was her 5-month-old son, Isaac. The infant was strapped in a car seat and escaped apparent injury, but was taken to the hospital for evaluation as a precaution. Murphy suffered minor injury, but was not transported.
Route 9 was closed for an hour, Officer Stanton said.
Reavely’s 2001 Volkswagen station wagon and Murphy’s 1999 Volvo wagon were demolished in the 2:50 p.m. accident.
