Christal Treadwell, left, of Studio 6 and Photography by Christal in Mexico, founded the “Keeping the Arts Alive” Scholarship. The first recipient of the scholarship is a 2007 Mountain Valley High School graduate, Ashley Lauze. Lauze is attending a Maine university and majoring in the arts. Treadwell’s hope is to continue the scholarship and increase the number of recipients to include Dirigo High School. This spring she will have a fine art auction and all proceeds will go to the “Keeping the Arts Alive” Scholarship Fund. For more information, visit www.photographybychristal.com.
