AUBURN – The Andy-Valley Sno Gypsies Snowmobile Club invites the public for an afternoon of fun at its second annual Poker Run fundraiser being held Saturday, Feb. 16.

A poker run is a spinoff of the traditional card game. Participants travel to five stops along a prearranged route. At each stop, a card is drawn and at the end of all five stops, participants have a poker hand. Participants can drive an automobile or ride a snowmobile to the different stops.

The person with the best poker hand wins $150. The one with the worst hand goes home with $50. There are also opportunities to win merchandise and gift certificates from local merchants.

The entire event begins and ends at Lost Valley Ski Area. Participants register between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The poker run begins at noon. Prizes are awarded at 4 p.m.

Cost is $5 per hand, with proceeds benefiting Central Maine Adaptive Sports, which offers adaptive ski lessons to people with disabilities, and the Andy-Valley Sno Gypsies Snowmobile Club, which maintains and grooms nealy 40 miles of trails in the Auburn area.
