AUBURN – Auburn/Lewiston YMCA Grade 5-6 girls’ basketball travel team finished second in its season-ending tournament, defeating Messalonskee and Augusta before falling to Falmouth in the final.

Kory Norcross scored 15 points in the 39-25 victory over Messalonskee. Tianna Harriman added 10 points, followed by Kennedy Hubbard with five, Paige Young with three, and Brooke Reynolds, Calli Murray and Molly Murray each with two.

Auburn edged Augusta, 34-32, in a thrilling second game. Norcross again led the way with 14 points.

Mariah Carroll added five, including a 3-pointer. Harriman and Young chipped in four points apiece, with Reynolds producing three and Hubbard and Molly Murray tacking on two apiece.

Falmouth was too much for Auburn, 41-22, in the evening contest. Norcross notched nine points. Carroll (four), Reynolds (three) and Hubbard, Dinah Sterling and Laurianne Murphy (two each) all contributed for ‘Y.’
