LEWISTON – “Understanding the Menstrual Cycle” will be the topic of a Central Maine Fertility Forum presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Fertility specialist-gynecologist Michael Drouin, MD, will provide current information on menstrual functions, common menstrual malfunctions and available treatments. The forum will offer information for infertility patients and women with menstrual difficulties.

Following his presentation, Drouin will host a question-and-answer session.

Drouin has practiced medicine and surgery in the Lewiston-Auburn area for more than 30 years. A Lewiston native, he graduated from Providence College in Providence, R.I., and received his medical degree from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Drouin served residencies at the Women and Infants’ Hospital of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Hospital, both in Providence. He completed advanced infertility training at the Howard and Georgianna-Segar Jones Infertility Institute at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.

He is certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of several professional organizations.

The program will be presented beginning at 6 p.m. in Conference Room I, located in the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building adjacent to CMMC. Refreshments will be offered.
