Austin Roy scored with 40 seconds remaining in regulation Saturday to give the Maine Gladiators Squirt Travel Tier I hockey team a 3-2 Valley Travel League win over Melrose at Lawrence, Mass.

The game was scoreless until the second period, when Caleb Labrie scored the first of his two goals.

Sunday, the Gladiators rebounded from a three-goal deficit with five unanswered tallies in a 5-3 triumph over Casco Bay Squirts in an in-state battle.

Joey Frechette scored the first goal on an assist from Labrie to bring Gladiators within 3-1 in the second period.

Roy followed with a score by way of Cam Stewart and Labrie.

Stewart snagged the tying goal just before the second intermission.

Labrie landed the game-winner with a set-up from Stewart early in the third.

Casco Bay tried to tie the game with the help of a 6-on-3 advantage in the final minute, but Roy broke up the play and scored an empty-netter with six seconds left.
