RANDOLPH, Vt. – Matt Findlay and Chris Banks scored 16 points apiece to lead Southern Maine Community College to a 74-72 victory over Central Maine CC in the championship game of the Yankee Small College Conference.

SMCC (23-7) scored the winning hoop with 20 seconds to play. The Mustangs’ bid to tie the game fell short at the buzzer.

Dave LaBonte led the Mustangs with 30 points, including nine 3-pointers. Tyler Smithgall added 20 points and Cam Angell had 15.

Binghamton 80, Maine 55

VESTAL, N.Y. – Dwayne Jackson scored 26 points to lead Binghamton in a 80-55 defeat over Maine Sunday.

Jackson hit 11-of-15 from the floor, including 3-of-3 three-pointers, and added a career-high five steals on the defensive end.

After building a 19-point cushion at the break, Binghamton (12-14, 8-6) shot 58 percent in the second half to discourage any Maine comeback bid.

Lazar Trifunovic scored 14 points and Reggie Fuller recorded his third double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Mark Socoby and Kaimondre Owes contributed 15 points each for Maine (7-18, 3-9). Troy Barnies added 10 points.
