The Democratic caucus on Feb. 10 was an impressive experience, with at least 800 people attending. I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we did our best with the limited resources we had.

Since the Lewiston High School cafeteria does not have a sound system, we are grateful to Jason, a Bates student, for bringing a microphone and speaker. It may not have been ideal, but it would have been worse without one.

I can understand why some felt they could not hear, as people, not only Bates students, were talking in the back of the room. We cannot judge an entire student body by the actions of a few excited young people.

The Bates students I saw were respectful and I believe, overall, they enhanced the entire process.
