February is Heart Month, and Rumford Hospital dedicates the month to raising awareness about the risks for heart disease and its prevention. On Feb. 1, hospital staff and volunteers (pictured) wore red to raise awareness about heart disease and women. On Saturday, Feb. 23, the hospital, in conjunction with the Central Maine Medical Family, will sponsor the annual Heart-to-Heart conference, featuring a heart healthy breakfast and lunch and a panel discussion that includes a survivor. This year, due to hospital construction, the conference will be held at the University College in Mexico. Space is limited and preregistration is required. Call 369-1143 to register.
