HEBRON – The Hebron Academy Players will present “Seussical the Musical” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23, in Androscoggin Theater in Sargent Gymnasium. Based on the Dr. Seuss favorite “Horton Hears a Who,” the play opened on Broadway in 2000. Composer Stephen Flaherty and lyricist Lynn Ahrens incorporated characters from 14 of Seuss’ books, including Gertrude McFuzz and The Cat in the Hat.

The production is free and open to the public. Parking will be available in the Robinson Arena lot, just off Route 119 on the Hebron campus.

Director Julie Middleton describes the musical’s plot as “really about believing in yourself, keeping promises and the rewards of being an independent thinker.”

“We are excited to have over 65 students and faculty members in the cast and crew.” she added.

Local students in the cast include Melanie Kleven, John Bedette and Emily Powers of Auburn; Claire Cummings, Norway; Brooks Schandelmeier, Greene; Jen Duguay, Turner; Emma Janeczko, Hebron; Katya Planson, New Gloucester; Silas Leavitt, Emma Leavitt and Katherine Stewart of Gray; and Kees van Haasteren and Ashley Waldron of Raymond.
