AUBURN – Central Maine Community College Corporate and Community Services will offer classes to benefit small business owners. “Powerful Marketing using Microsoft Office” (CED 014-01) will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesdays, March 4 through 18. The cost is $165.

The class is good for small business owners with limited marketing dollars who want to get started on designing their own Web site, brochures and PowerPoint presentations. The workshop will introduce participants to the essential features and functions of Microsoft FrontPage, Publisher and PowerPoint to create brochures, Web sites and presentations. Participants are encouraged to bring their own project or ideas.

The workshop will be facilitated by Stacy Dostie, the principal of Design Matters Creative Services LLC. She has more than 18 years of creative and marketing experience.

“Introduction to QuickBooks” (CCS 059-21) will be offered from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, March 5 through April 9. The cost of $255 includes materials.

QuickBooks is a small-business computer accounting package. Participants will learn how to set up an accounting system for a company, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, create invoices, bill customers, print checks and create financial statements. A basic understanding of Windows is recommended.

The class will be taught by Jim Boucher, president of Boucher Consulting, which focuses on increasing productivity through the utilization of current systems and resources. Boucher has 15 plus years of experience in managerial accounting and software consulting.
